Amethystum Storage large-capacity Blu-ray disc is certified by BDA(Blu-ray Disc Association)

On July 9, 2021, Guangdong Amethystum Information Storage Technology Co., Ltd. (Amethystum Storage)’s large-capacity Blu-ray Disc (BD-R TL) passed the Blu-Ray Disc Association/BDA certification, which marking Amethystum Storage has made substantial progress in the manufacturing of large-capacity Blu-ray discs.

The International Blu-ray Alliance (BDA) is an international organization that formulates and promotes Blu-ray storage media formats, aiming to standardize the development and application of Blu-ray storage media formats.

Amethystum Storage is the first enterprise in mainland China has gained the BDA BD-R TL product certification, symbolizing that it has independent production technology capability of optical disc media meeting the standard of<R3 Format Specification (BDXL™)/multi-layer recordable Blu-ray disc (including three and four layers) >in the field of large-capacity Blu-ray disc manufacturing formulated by BDA.

Once the related media products are put into production, it could lower the cost of optical storage media products, enabling the company to provide customers with more cost-effective optical storage products and solutions, which will enhance the competitiveness in the optical storage product market.

 BDA Certification Proof

The BDA certification results can be checked on its official website (https://blu-raydisc.info/licensee-list/discmanuid-licenseelist.php). The above certification is applicable to the future production of 100G/200G high-capacity Blu-ray discs on the BD-R 100G/200G production line of Amethystum. Since the 200G optical disc specification is made up of two 100G halves glued back, it is divided into A/B side when reading. Amethystum has certified two MIDs: RT4/RT5 for the production specification differentiation of large-capacity Blu-ray disc products.
